‘Walking in Patterns’ is a collaboration between Andrew Hieronymi (School of Visual Arts, PSU), Joseph Cusumano (Department of Engineering Sciences and Mechanics, PSU) and Jonas Runenson. Â The project incorporates real-time adjustments of treadmill speed based on the participants’ movements. The project draws from basic game theory, investigating the way participants compete or cooperate. Â It also provides a novel approach to testing locomotor optimization and how multi-person cooperation affects locomotion.
